Previn and his wife Irene are the proprietors of Hearcare, in Drouin near the Post Office
Previn hails from Durban in South Africa and came to Australia in 2001.
He originally came to Melbourne and studied at University of New England in Armidale, NSW to achieve his qualifications  in Audiology.        .
Ian Haughton  invited him to visit the club to talk about a project he is involved in with other hearing professionals to providing hearing aids to people in developing countries.
The Project is titled ‘Hear the World’ and major funding for the program is supplied the Starkey Hearing Aid company, which provides many millions of dollars to the initiative.
It is also supported by Gala events in the USA which are supported by many wealthy donors and philanthropists such as Bill Clinton and Elton John.
Groups of volunteer hearing professionals travel overseas to places such as Zimbabwe, Bali and the Philippines and over a few weeks assess and fit hearing aids to many hundreds of men, women and children.
Previn, Irene and staff have been a part of these groups on two occasions.
Previn spoke of the emotion of seeing the reactions of people, particularly young children, hearing for the first time after being fitted with hearing devices.
“That is what drives us on to do more” Previn said.
The provision of hearing devices is followed up by speech therapy sessions over subsequent weeks by local teams of providers.
