It was a bright cool morning as we pulled out of Drouin with the Dingo in its trailer behind us. We were bound for Centenary House to dig holes and concrete in the post for new fences on the boundary between Centenary House and the hospital next door. There was no sign of the Hazelwood power station chimneys as we passed by. They were demolished the day before. On arrival Bill and Don quickly go into digging the holes while Max and I filled barrows with the spoils and trundled it 50 metres to the back of the site. That completed the concrete truck arrived as we were having coffee (no peace for the wicked!). While Max and I filled the holes with concrete Bill & Don positioned and levelled the posts. It all seemed so simple under Bills expert control. A satisfying days’ work. There is more to do on Thursday with a new team. Many members have volunteered for this project, so many, that not all have been able to take part. I’m sure there will there will be many more opportunities and thanks to all who have participated.
