A pleasant evening was shared by the twenty six members and partners who came together at The Crossing for dinner and enjoyable fellowship on our 5th Tuesday social evening.
'The Crossing', principally supported through donations from Drouin's churches, has been in existence for around thirty years, commencing its services in the old 'Restaurant' of the Ampol (later Caltex) service station in Princes Way (adjacent to where the Bendigo Bank is now...photo above) and then moved around until it landed in it current location about seventeen years ago. The organisation now owns its 'home'.
Weekly meals, food bank and simply "being there" are the services it offers for those in need, including a number of homeless people.
After a nice meal, many took the opportunity to stock up for Christmas with preserves, crafts and cards, locally made and donated.
